Ryan Miller graduated in 2005 with a B.A. in Psychology from Yale University. His undergraduate interests were broad, ranging from behavioral and cognitive neuroscience to religious studies and philosophy. As a student he worked with adorable and energetic rats and mice while studying the effects of estrogen on memory and learning. After graduating in 2005, Ryan joined Dr. Mathalon and Dr. Ford in their lab at Yale to study the neurophysiological underpinnings of schizophrenia, and in January of 2009, he decided to flee the cold and stalk them all the way to the West Coast.
He plans on using the sweet MRI skills he's acquired at BIEEGL to attend graduate school within the next two years and study the evolutionary origins of religious beliefs and the cognitive modules that determine their saliency. In addition to thinking about thinking, Ryan also enjoys reading about the latest findings in astronomy, cosmology, and quantum physics, as well as producing on-the-fly techno remixes of patriotic classics (e.g. My Country, 'Tis of Thee), and appreciating Selwyn-Lloyd's latest dance moves.
